JEEVES AT SEA
A Comedy Adapted by Margaret Raether, from the stories of P.G. Wodehouse
Directed by Angie Flynn-McIver
Set sail for laughter as Bertie Wooster, played by Scott Treadway (TRUE WEST, ROUNDING THIRD, JEEVES), revels in life aboard the Vanderley yacht accompanied, as always, by his peerless valet Jeeves, played by Michael MacCauley (FROST/NIXON, ANGELS IN AMERICA, JEEVES). Bertie is the pampered guest of the lively Lady Stella Vanderley, played by Carin Metzger (FROST/NIXON, AS YOU LIKE IT), and her no nonsense chaperone Miss Minerva Pilbeam, played by NC Stage newcomer Paula O’Brien (BLOOMSDAY, 35 Below).
If only Bertie’s pal Crumpet, played by Charlie Flynn-McIver (KING MACKEREL, STALKING THE BOGEYMAN, JEEVES), hadn’t assaulted a prince. In the blink of an eye, Bertie is masquerading as a romance novelist, Crumpet’s posing as his own long-lost twin, and the sinister Count Otto Von Dietrichstein, played by NC Stage newcomer Ryan Mitchell (TWELFTH NIGHT, Folger Shakespeare Theatre Co.), is challenging Bertie to a duel.
Has Jeeves finally met his match? Will this madcap case of mistaken identities end in Bertie’s doom – or worse, his marriage?
